Hi guys

Had a window fitted and the frame edges have been re-plastered and matched in with the existing wall. It's quite lumpy where the new joins the old and I was told I need to give it a quick sand. I've also been told to be wary of sanding plaster. I've done a test area using 120 grit and the end surface looks quite shiny. Should I mist coat the area first and then sand back, or sand and then mist coat please? Or is there something else I should be doing please?

I'm inexperienced with all this so any help or advice would be most appreciated to get the best finish.

Thankyou!!

Mist coat first then you will see where it needs filling then give the high spots a light sand, then when happy paint.
