Has anyone used this yet? I think it is similar to a product Marmorit ans SPS Envirowall has out but theirs (sas) comes in 4 colours.

If it is cement based then it may be cheaper and faster setting than Acrylic. What has put customers off the Envirowall product is that it needs painting afterwards and Marmorits comes only in white.

When I went down to SAS a year ago next week it was so new they did not have any hard samples so was wondering if anyone has used it, any good and can it be seen if I was to travel and have a gander.

This has been around for a while now. Sound principle for British winters that I'm surprised more manufacturers don't bother with. Most are just into selling and don't give two hoots as to the impracticality of their products or the fact we can't afford to take 2 months off every dec/jan to stay within their application parameters

I spoke to a Marmorit rep about this time last who said they was going to push this material more as Mononcouche has become too troublesome. Being a painted finish then a bit more labour intensive but probably less chance of colour loss due to lime bloom as we are likely to get with a year like we have had. The Mono job I did last week is ruined by lime bloom and now needs equalising solution. The customer accepted it at first but now the scaffold is down he wants something doing about it.

Mention lime bloom and they think you are making it up as you go along. It takes some to convince the private customer that lime bloom is beyond anyones control. There are Co,s in my area that will not touch coloured cement renders because of the comebacks. Even I have talked a few out of it this year but if they insist I tell them of the risks, not that they listen.

I think Marmorits product is SP260. Some kind of primer first then the Sp260 then paint. Mention paint though and the customer loses interest.

Hmm if anything I think people just want flat i.e. painted s&c. Monos dead as a dodo in the renovation market round my way. It doesn't look right on older houses anyway. Trouble is s&c painted always looks dodgy in the sun. Compared to a mono finish its rough if they're the same quality. Shame there's no way in this day and age to get a flat finish that has the blemish free flatness of mono with the smoothness of s&c.

I suppose you could spray parmurex in one coat, scratch it back, prime & use dpr 0.5mm. Will do a bit of experimentation with this as I'm using it over ewi soon so will have a good opinion of the background coverage and sprayed appearance. The 1mm finish is very nice but isn't a s&c alternative as its too textured. If the 0.5mm doesn't cover the scratch texture then you could always trowel the tightest coat of maite over it then the half mill but what a sandwich compared to painted s&c. The parmurex is one coat tho on block work.

I think there is.SPS Envirowall has a coloured flat render on the market. I have a sample bag to try and they have had a contractor in the Birmingham area do a job with it.

Apparently rubbing time is important as if you spray/splash water on it, it leaves a mark.

It hidden amongst some k rend surplus. Idiot of a lab didn,t mark the poly bag we put it in so it,s going to take some finding. I will do a sample on a cement particle board and let you know what I think. I will try and get a sample of SP260 off Marmorit and do them at the same time.

Got a bag of SPS Envirowall,s equivalent coming tomorrow. Will give it a go over a cement board to see what it is like. Had to pay for it though, tight chuffs!
