at 3.80 a pint where I am id rather see it turned into a little development of flats robbing bastards

£3.90 a pint of guiness in my local, 4 cans of guiness £4 in my local corner shop, small cottages bringing £200.000 plus in the area.
that would be why pubs are closing and being turned into housing in my area.

yep that's true, although the property market aint what it used to be, around here at least.

Think the other factor is we can all get pissed for a fraction of the cost at home in front of our flatscreens. It's hard to compete with.

Yep pubs closing stops the working class from talking about the bigger picture in life and so stops us getting together and
saying were not having this or that total mind control of the working class

The biggest killer of pubs, in my opinion anyhow, is the monopolies that own them and keep increasing the cost of the leases for good tenant landlords. Turn a bad pub around and the brewery/pub chain will 'reward' you with a rent-rise because you're pulling more money in. That's why a 'Free House' is usually a little bit cheaper than the tied pubs - take note next time you're on the lash :RpS_thumbup:

Its not even the price that bothers me most. My local got rid of the pool table and dart board to replace them with more tables for food. Cant go in wearing work clothes now either. Ill have a beer at home or at mates thanks.

went to a real place yesterday n town. Was interesting, not full of beardy real ale drinkers at all. lots of younguns and posh people. has real ale gone trendy all of a sudden :RpS_blink:
