How do everyone, names' Jon, Just signed up this morning, thought here would be as good a place to start as any.
What about me? well just found out I'm being made redundant from my spectacular job as a carpet and upholstery cleaner (it's not really what I wanted to do when I grew up tbh, but it was a job!)
Have been interested in plastering for a while and went on a four day course a couple of years ago, to be honest the guys teaching there were nice enough, but didn't seem all that interested in imparting any actual knowledge, more focussed on bunging stuff on the walls and a little bit of trowel technique.
Anyway..currently in the process of fixing up my house (windows out, french doors in, fireplace widened etc) and plastered the living room wall (all by myself..how proud I was!) and got to thinking, that it's something I really enjoyed doing, what with no job coming up and a wife and two year old to try and look after, I thought maybe this could be something I should look into a little more thoroughly, but at 36 years old, am I actually past it now? ;)
Anyways, seems like a bunch of nice people here, I'll be sure to have a poke around and ask questions (probably lots of them!)

Cheers.

Thanks for the warm welcome, yeah, sucks to be jobless, haven't been out of work since I left college at 17, its going to feel odd that's certain, but the house will be tidy for once ;)
