another night sitting doing some quotes ..NOW.. when you guys are on jobs which need scaffolding what should the scaffolding cost be say for an average house 1half story i have my own but obviously need to make somthing of it wot do you think ..........paul

ring a scaffolder and get a price that will give you some idea.

paid 750 to wrap a 1930s semi with a full length carport on the side and a conservatory on the back (tricky)

wow we got £1500 just to do front and back of a 3 story town house and gable end.. but.. the access was bad to get in the back.. had to walk threw the house!

just had a price in for a scaffold to just the front of a 3 story house and thats 385 + vat

Wow...you guys really should ring around more for scaffolding prices..
i had to paint a 3 story house last week so 3 rigs needed.Front only cheapest i got was £299+vat had quotes of £400+vat and £565 +vat and many in between.
Ring 10 companies theyyll drive by the house and have abutchers and ring u wit a quote takes u 15 minutes to ring them all and them address ,also tell them ur getting other quotes.Thats how u make money!!!!!

I was chatting to a builder mate the other day and he had to have a huge scaffold with a roof over the top, he put in on his quote £3200 when he got his usual scaffolder in to price it, he told him £5000 so he rang around got a few prices in, lowest he got was £3800 so he told them to do it, then his usual scaffolder phoned and asked what was happening about the job? so he came clean and said he got a cheaper quote, so he came back and said he would do it for £3600 so he phoned the other bloke and said what had happened and apologised he was fine with it and agreed to let him have it. So he then phoned his usual scaffolder and told him he has started a price war and the other guy would do it £3500 he then agreed to match it he was still 300 out of profit but it was better than 1800.
