Hi.
Help please!
Currently looking at getting my house rendered with k-rend or webber etc. seen a house round the corner that i like the look of.The finish seems quite flat with quite deep pitt holes in.recieved a sample from k rend that doesnt quite look the same. is the finish determined by the scraping tool or do the different products have different finishes??
Had a firm price the job using k-rend and once i saw the sample explained that i wanted a slightly different finish.he suggested it might be weber but that would be more expensive.? he also mentioned that the sample is sprayed and if they hand apply k rend the finish will be different? is he talking b******s?
Thanks for your help, Tom

Krend ft can only be applied by hand its slightly finer than the others, ask parex for test samples its a nice all round finish

Bulshit same finish machine or hand we are currently using k rend on rip lath n has to be applied by hand n the other lads are on the other side rendering on block using machine

Let us know where you are based Jack ,then someone on here might be able to help you out

Could it be Acrylic bucket coat? I have had customers tell me they want monocouche like across the road and it's turned to be Acrylic.

There is also Weber monocouche fine (MF) but it is made to order.

I've seen mono with a pitted but flattened finish before and it looks really good. I figured out how to do it, but if I told you I'd have to kill you all.

sprayed or hand applied the same product should look the same

on the bigger pitted holes he is right
some mono does have a more random aggregate in it with the odd bigger piece when scraped back you get the odd random pitt that is bigger than the rest - I also like this finish. funny thing is I aint seen it for ages weber did do it and possibly Krend but cant remember think it was WP grade from memory

The way to get the flat, pitted finish is to Ibar when softish then flatten in straight away with a trowel. Looks mint, and allows a same day finish when you would normally be sat in the van or a local pub till midnight.

Looks better than the normal, evenly rough faced mono finish too IMO.
.The finish seems quite flat with quite deep pitt holes in.recieved a sample from k rend that doesnt quite look the same.
It could be k-rend WP(water proof) which is a rougher grain than there FT(fine texture) and leaves bigger holes when scraped. they might have sent you there FT finish as a sample.

half new build block work and half old brickwork good sized job but there has been movement from the extention.
priced up for parex monorex with full based coat and mesh??
