self levelling over synthaprufe

I am been asked to self level a screeded floor which was laid in the 80's , the floor has black synthaprufe over it with low level asbestos, what primer could I use that will allow self levelling compound to adhere to the old floor...?

Could you not sbr slurry it one day then self level the next John.

Its one option ,just that there are so many heads on the site watching,big insurance job, six flats, only two needing the self levelling compound. I could not get any of the primer manufacturers to give a suitable product as they ask for a 50mm screed as a min on top..

To cover yourself then you've got to recommend that the bad floors need taking up and re-screeded

Oh I did say,best job is to dig up and relay, they not likey likey one likil bitty, I get sick of patch and make do on a job that is probably £250k at least

Use the weber floor flex it has fibres in it an it can go up too 50mm its

Break-up and re screed IMO, synthaprufe is a very poor sub straight to bond to i wouldn't risk it ,especially if there are a load of know -alls on site , like there usually is, back stabbing Bar-stewards lol

would stopgap p131 do the job its designed to go onto non absorbent surfaces, weve used this before (when i worked on the floors) on a smooth metal floor

No idea, all the primer companies say, min lay on top must be 50mm

have you rang stopgap and asked them you could use p131 then latex with chippings in let that set up then just latex ontop

IMO stopgap are the best for latexing gear and primers there a little bit dear but worth it in the long run, your in london have a look on google for planners services and sundries in kings cross, there a floorers merchants used to go there all the time a few years ago

pop in there if you can and ask them behind the desk they should know if not they might have something you can use on it
