I would mix bonding and skim together and try to replicate it on a bit of board first bonding will give that grainy look I think?

You should of used a Venetian trowel . Too much space between the trowels and the strokes are not competed. once is set slightly go over it just to smooth the edges . Where is Lodan when you need him:D.
Rough as shite, but if coustomer is happy :)
well done then.;)

Loved it...had to clean beads,check my reveals,lol

:rayos:Ok . Post it now .... what was the name to the thread you started.....:loco:
@flynnyman for sure will have the last word:D
Not joking there is a lot of skill in that finish , firstly it's the opposite to the normal everything has to be messy and using smaller trowel on last go over without going over it all .. I worked out I had to miss bits on second time over to make it look like it had been plastered rough.
Think a lot would of struggled to get it right ..
Don't mean to blow my own trumpet but doubt anyone will ever be able to post up a job like this.
:bailando: Even flynny would of struggled with it..:hola:

Agree . Flynny is good with pipes and hoses:LOL:.
I am sure if he has to do it would start with more plaster on the trowel to give it some more depth, but who knows he is one of a kind. Anyway, if the customer is happy it doesn't matter what people will say:)

Thats just pete's first coat before hes done a flatten

@theplasterman seriously I'm intrigued how did you do it? And fair play!

I'd have just refused point blank but hey looks like you gave them exactly What they asked for and married it up a treat.

Well done pal, I think!!! Lol
When I asked on here this morning customers had just gone out when they came back told me a painter dude had done the other in the 80's, that filled me with confidence , I thought if he can do it I defiantly can, so I stopped trying to cover first coat properly so it looked like it had a few layers , did have to fill out round beads and board joins but as it stiffened up just kept loading what was in bucket mix on top in like a tapping spreads motion, lol still buzzing about it now, tomorrow got to do another wall the same and then some rough and super smooth in between oak ceiling beams :(
Tried to talk them to sticking to rough look everywhere but they weren't having it,
Decided to call it the @Lodan look style using the @zombie one coat special mix :bananahappy::bailando::hola:
If anyone can...Plasterman can
