hello all.anyone use sika waterproofer for rendering as i was supplied with wopping big tub of it today for a job im on.On the insructions it says add 1 litre to every 25kg of cement.Does this work out the same as a take away coffee cups worth(from bp garage) poured into a bucket of water.I no i sound thick but 1 litre of waterproofer sounds like to much to me and that stuff aint cheap. :o

it sounds to me like its sika 1, some sort of tanking stuff. I used it the other week and it was like chewing gum, only as a scratch coat. I would imagine it would nt be very nice for floatin I tried ruling it just to see what it was like and it sticks 2 feather like I said chewing gum

I have had 1 experience of working with it for another spread and the top coat kept sliding everywhere. It was a nightmare

rich talking off toilets .........do you ever get it when if you take a dump and have a wank ............5 mins later you feel like you need another dump ???

sika. a bitch to skim over when left over a day. but no comebacks with salts bleeding through. good gear if your light on your toes with no messing! all in one!

sika is s**t hot and it gives you the ratio for your gauging water as they all do, simply follow the ratio given and dilute straight into water dont use any other water in you mixes other than your guaging water

I think what may be the trouble is that some peeps dilute waterproofers per kg of cement per mix ,and others dilute to gauging water ratio ???

I try to avoid sika it tends to make the mix flat n dead ,hard to spread it! there are just as good products on the market, you must make a good dence render:( sharp sand not soft sand ) mix 3.1 if your doing damp remedial work. you can also buy pre packed renders with all the addetives in it just add the h,2 ,o

I got a call yesterday from the guy who's job it is and he told me he dont need me for next week as the job he was going to do has fallen through. So it looks like im on the scrap heap again next week.its a shame because his client was impressed with my work.It can be really frustrating at times. Also got a call from another bloke who needed someone for a week or two to work at gt ormond st.He offered me £120 a day gross and no expensive and i have to drive 15 miles then get a tube with my tools and wisk.Dont want to sound ungratefull but he can poke it.
