Had some water damage to a 3mm K Wetherby finish yesterday. Wetherby don't do an accelerator or I definately would have used one as the humidity has been really high.

Has anybody ever used a different manufacturers accelerator in a their finish. Am I wrong in thinking it can't possibly do any harm as it's very likely to just react the same as it would with their own product.

Thanks.

They are around and as far as I am aware it does not accelerate the drying but helps skin the surface faster so not so prone to wash off. Correct me if I am wrong as it is now the time of year for this additive.

3mm takes a lot longer to set and this time of year it's days before it'll take a hit from rain. Chances of getting 3-4 dry days is pretty slim. Wetherby used to do an accelerator but nobody was buying it do they stopped it altogether.

Parex make one, that I've used on occasions with all sorts of different manufacturers.
there about 20 quid per small pot tho, add it to the pale direct and whist it up. Sets in about 4 hours to take a shower, don't apply below 3c tho.
