I just bought & used a new Silverstorm Heavy Duty Plaster Mixer 1800W last weekend for a plaster mix and Ive noticed that the paddle has a slight of a wobble on it when rotating. Didnt think it would cause any big issues but when I mixed the plaster in a 30L bucket I noticed there are small shavings of the the bucket in with the mix... Brilliant!!
Thinking that it could be due to the paddle having a few sharp bits where the welds haven't been ground down and the fact the paddle is made in 2 parts a joint on it. So I went and purchased a new paddle (in one part, no joint) and tried that but the paddle still has a slight wobble on it.
On closer inspection the drive shaft that the paddle screws into has some slight movement in it, I can move it from side to side but we are only talking a few mm having said that by the time the movement is transfered to the bottom of the paddle the movement is greater which is enough to see and feel the paddle wobble.
Is this movement normal as I didn't have this with my last mixer I had?
Another thing I noticed between the new paddle I bought and the one that was shipped with the mixers is that the fins are opposite. Dont think this make much difference i terms of the mix but I'm just curious to know why this is.
Cheers
