Hi all,

While having a debate on the onsite delivery elements and Dashers/Renderers required, i am also looking to recruit the following work on Domestic Dwellings.

All of the site managers roles require CSCS cards, will need to go through an enhanced CRB check, ideally have SSSTS OR SMSTS, IOSH and be conversant with EWI of external render/envelope works or plastering.

Site Managers, Commutable to Cornwall, Midlands, South Wales, North West and Yorkshire. (6 in total)

Site Supervisors/GF (None Working) all of the above locations x 12

Customer Liaison officers, South Wales, Midlands and North

Quantity Surveyors, Midlands, South Wales x 2

Project Co-Ordinator/Office Manager (MS Project Experience Essential)

Material Scheduler/Buyer, Midlands or South Wales.

Ive got SMEENDSHESSPPEEWSEJLOK and ime conversant in German, Dutch and Spanish, any good?
 
I'm sure everyone appreciates the need to be well qualified in your specific area of expertise, not least the people who are charged with making things happen on time, in budget and safe.

That initial post is just a long list of c@nts jobs taking a slice of the money that should be being paid to the tradesmen.

I would say that if this ever kicks of most of your labour force will be Eastern European as once you give them a foot hold they intimidate and take over as has been proven over the last ten years on sites in London and other major cities.

These schemes that Collo is referring to are not new by any means. They have been running for several years now in one form or the other(CERT/CESP). They are labour intensive, and some that I have been on are well set up on the contractor side, but always seem to be let down by the poor rates that are paid to the applicators. IE board,scrim and dash inc beads at £11.5 pm2 or £13 silicone- which is beyond a joke.

If the standard required by contractors is to be met, then the rates have to reflect fairly the skill required to do the job to the correct standard.

I have seen many projects completed on the basis of cheap labour rates, and in all honesty I would be ashamed to live in a shabbily refurbished property.
 
agree yes. These schemes have been running for several years and these schemes do seem to be the lowest paid areas of the thermal rendering world - thats why i worry it will be wrestled away from renderers and given to semi skilled labour as we all know a genuine workmanship concious tradesman who takes pride will find a better crust elsewhere.

having said that I am interested in the possibilities, even if it just means raising the awareness of what it takes to install correctly and with some pride intact. I am all ears at this stage. sceptical maybe because like you say i have seen drones of men churned over on some such projects with even EU workers shunning the rates

Cracking day today apparently the lad who was covering me was a plasterer................I'm ending it here honest I can't describe how bad it is .....he's a plasterer...........................................................................

yeah another lad who thinks he can plaster, woke me up a bit I'm not surprised rates are s**t after firms have to pay out to put work right, went home at 2 on daywork and left his work area a right s**t hole, bit gutted because me and my mate were the only spreads on the job and we left it immaculate .....and he had a little go at the mono........I'm sure you know the rest
 
yer seen some right doggy stuff aswell, some guys about my age, been to college and stuff. The work they left was shocking, i ended up showing one how to use a spray bottle!
 
with all the acronyms flying about the NVQII has yet to be mentiond??? which any company bidding for work after october will need all their operatives to have before even being allowed on site... so who is actually going to do the work? hands up all of you on here... how many of you have actually got your NVQII in external insulation???? not many i bet.... well i have but still cant get work because i havent got a degree in paperwork... what the fcuk is going on bloody sick

Myself, including level 3 supervisors and all my lads have the EWI nvq 2 we never got them with green deal in mind we just done EWI because thats our specialist field but thats not the only criteria needed there will more tricky acreditations i hear any company will almost certainly have to have CHAS and some other bumff
