I think the back pack super soakers got some great reviews. @Casper uses one but he’s a messy cunnt with it, sprays absolute everything in sight, so wouldn’t take advice from him hope that helps

I don’t think there are any pro’s. If you want to spray skim look into airless.

From what I saw on the L&D video, it sprays uneven and you need someone spatting it flat as it is going on. Also sprays where you don't want it to like ceiling angles.

You can get a fair bit on but then a spat man and being plaster once you start you cant stop. Once its all on you will have to bear in mind that he machine, gun and pipes need cleaning out, meanwhile the load you have put on very fast is also setting just as fast. You may need a few trowels on the go to catch it.

Airless looks a lot tidier.
