Skim pimples - what are they?

Hi,

I can't seem to figure out what's happened from Googling/forums. Does anyone know why a skim coat is producing tiny pimple-like lumps in various areas across different walls? Skim coat on top pva coated plastered walls. Photos show an almost dry wall (harsh torch angle to show details) and a wall skimmed 8hrs ago. In daylight you can't really see them unless you go up close and you can slightly feel them with you fingers. I'll try sanding them soon, but it's bizarre really.

I think they'll really show through the paint unless they're fixed.

Air bubbles, just give them a quick rub over with a fine sanding block

Just needed a dry trowel last knockings.

I don't really get them often to warrant, it's usually when going over bonding though.

Simple answer it was not done properly and in my opinion not by a plasterer

I guess cutting corners (including the literal corners) and not being used to handling an older house. He could be okay on plaster board/already perfect walls.

If he’s a time served plasterer with experience,if the house is brand new or very old he should know exactly what to do what he’s done is very poor workmanship no attention to detail it’s just sloppy, to me it looks like he’s just a chancer .plastering is a skill not learned by a few courses it’s takes years ,and when an apprentice is time served the road-is only beginning,when a plasterer prices a job it’s the job and and all the experience he brings with him he’s charging for. too often people just want the cheapest and think plastering is all the same I’m not saying you as I don’t know but this site is full of threads with people showing bad workmanship and thrust me the majority of them are down to cheapest price gets it
