do a lot of work for this building contractor an they provide all materials had a couple of comebacks regarding the skim beads it looks like rust bleeding through all along the bead both sides all the way down has anyone had this or seen it its got me baffled all i can think is they are cheap beads or summat ive told them to get plastic ones or catnic see if thats ok

iv had this with TP beads in the past only random times. some times when on over skims in damp cold rooms. but nuffin a bit of undercoat/stain block cant fix

Oasis, have you got the makita autofeed, santa was kind to me last year....lovelly bit of kit with some Concept collateds.

Have had the bleed thing going on before too but put it down to the galvanised clout nails failing after being hit with a hammer.

have you got a board lifter if you do a lot of overboarding? one of these and the autofeed and you can board a ceiling and skim it by lunch time on your own.

iv got a lab and a set of good props jobs a good un. boards on by 11 and skimmed up after :-)

also them board lifters look like big kit!

they break down into small pieces, I find positioning the boards is more like taking a shot in snooker like offer up, walk around other side, have a look, squint one ey, have another look round the other side then fire away like robocop

I use them props too
Also someone gave me a set of boardmate's years ago & with one of these & one prop I can put an 8x4 up on me own a piece of p i ss.
If I'm using 6x3's I just use the props, I never used to use them till a mate bought some about 3yrs ago but I wouldn't be without em now.

But if Im doing 8x3's or 8x4's on ceilings on me own
i put a boardmate one end then slide board in place then prop up other end then hands free to screw away ;D
