Depends how neat iv laid it on. I still give my edges a brush in before laying on.
Iv had a few smaller jobs on this week so been laying on with same gear but knock a bit of dirty water through before laying on, helps to speed up the set in cold weather

I slightly change skimming in colder days mate ....I use outside of the trowel more.

You'll spend less time with the trowel in your hand than actually plastering.

3 hour set with a trowel in your hand for only an hour.
Same as lads who saying getting sore heads and necks face the ceiling with outside of the trowel.

On walls it's easier to flatten and finish when colder going up then down with the outside of the trowel.

I'm disappointed that you didn't put the walls on at the same time:inocente:

Am going off using dirty water as over the years this seems to have an adverse effect on occasions , quite often in the cold , and not saving any time in the long run, old or poorly stored MF I suspect
