Skimming over a rough cants work

Right, just finishing a job off and on the last day they asked me to look at a room they had skimmed by previous plasterer. It’s rough, not the worst I’ve seen but definitely rough.. scrim showing, trowel marks, water marks and fat everywhere.

They aren’t happy with it, rightly so. And want me to Sort it.

It was on plasterboard, it’s completely dry now. I told them it will be quicker for me to re-skim the lot rather than faff around sanding and filling bits.

I’ve only ever done two coats in all situations. But I’m wondering if one coat would be sufficient as it’s pretty much just laying it down..

It’s likely i’ll do two coats as normal but thought I would ask.

Thanks
