Ok, I've been using these for a couple of weeks now and I'm JUST getting to grips with a 'new way' of skimming. Definitely the way forward.

Does anyone have a set system / timescale for best results?

I'm struggling with getting the right times, as obviously I'm waiting much longer than I'm used to, but sometimes there are ripples that are hard to get out....as if the first coat is showing through the topcoat.

I'm thinking I'm going over it too soon.

Anyone had that problem with spats?

Seems too early and not enough pressure. Everyones different but I use the spat as the lab is mixing for second coat so it's pretty firm

If I'm putting a bigger set on then I will get on it with the spat 5/10 mins earlier

Speedskims straight away if laying on by hand. Don't let tighten as you wont get rid of ribs

Thanks chaps.
I'm currently mixing laying down coat before flattening first coat, and getting my sets to near on 2 hours because of it.

I'll flatten quickish with speedskim, but as you say dmp, I think I'm catching it a little early. The more pressure I apply the worse it gets.
I thought perhaps the spat was a little too flexible?
