Slow setting bonding

Hi guys is anyone having problems with bonding setting
been having alot of s**t with it for the last month or 2

Yeah I've found its been a bit inconsistent recently.

Friday last week I was on a small job (1 wall only) which needed a tight coat of bonding then skim, and sat looking at it for 3 hours waiting for it to set. Today I've filled in some chases before overskimming, and the bonding had set in about 20 mins or so.

That was 2 bags both from the same pallet.

had a s**t batch on a big job recently ,i got the british gysum rep out and he took a couple of the bags away to get tested ! tested faulty so i have to produce a bill for lost time not so bad but just wish it would set like it use too

Cant stand bonding, takes way to long to set, hardwall goes off way quicker

Try putting some finish to speed things up

Aye....broonsters right, add a bit of finish and you can go onto it earlier anyhow. Just don't put water on it until ya really have to.:RpS_thumbup:

MFW - maybe your problem would be more to do with suction control on the chases - unless you PVA'd them first, like we all do :RpS_scared:

am i the only one whos bonding is setting too quickly? i had a couple of bags a few weeks back, thought it was a bad batch, had some again today and it was the same. setting to the bucket in about 15 minutes

bit irregular but there are 2 gypsum works if u work right up north u get the grey bonding around the midlands the pink stuff f**ck knows which is which of the works as for setting quick the batch probably left out in damp under polythene depends on the merchants storage might even be out of date at works and repackaged u know recession might just recycle stick to hardwall much better product sticks as well too

scoop of cement does the trick i've always got a heater in my van so i just whip that out and point it at the wall if its taking forever

Yep I agree Spoons a handful or two of cement always quickens setting time with bonding!! :RpS_thumbup:
So you can still pva!!!
