Hi warrior
I suppose I would need between 5-10 all depends how far the guy wants to go. What am doing is going over old render it's all been cleaned . The old
render is crazed but solid. So I was thinking of scrim or mesh the joints and give a thin coat to bed mesh in and a second coat and just sponge it of. I will not have to be cock on, maybe at a later date top coat it. Am down the M180 from you Grimsby. What have you in mind?.

I do this kind of thing all the time.

wash it down, give it a coat of Quartzgrund Primer then sm700 and fully mesh it ..... lovely

The Quartzgrund Primer spec says it will do 75m2 what is the price of this stuff anyone know.

I got about 40 bags of sm700 on stock , did a gable like this last year, jet washed the old render down (it was solid but cracked) and applied a thin coat system, looked bang on when it was done

Did you use a quartzgrund primer clampy ? i got some to do this week and was just gonna put sm700 straight on with mesh

quartzgrund primer is about £55 plus vat, it is painted on the wall prior to sm700 to help provide key and help stabilise the substrate.

you can have it tinted to suite your colour topcoat when used as a primer ready to receive the top coat

No Blonesey straight onto the render, no need to prime unless your a scaredy cat and can't handle a bit of suction:rolleyes)

Joking apart if the renders clean and stable then there is no need to prime it, done a few without now, not saying it's wrong just not necessary, in my opinion
