Plastered a wall in with multi 2 coats and when dry noticed a couple of patches with many small holes on it. Any idea what causes this . Had some problems with wall drying quicker in some bits than others but leaving a window opened on a hot day may not have helped. Had pva with primer coat then 3:1 mix and applied when tacky as instructed on can. Done a few walls in past before but very much a novice.
Thanks

What was the background like mate, only reason plaster should shrink is that the background is too dry and then the skimming (or any plaster in fact) will shrink.

i think he means small air holes i get this my self some times mostly were I'm come from the corners.. i think its wee you spread it on but don't flatten out the air bubbles and it drys a bit to quick and they don't fill in.?

Drying out could also be a problem and would have the same effect as a HSB, both would mean that the plaster is not having time to set properly.

iv get thos on board work 2 sometimes. only every now and then.. use to do it all the times

The background was old plastered wall. Previously wallpapered and painted over. Had been up for a long time. When pva was put on some bits dried out quickly. I put more on until tacky. Wondered if an open window could have contributed this to happening.
