Got a small render job to do ,lots of stainless beads and its over flettons, one bit of rsj to go over also . Total render area is about 9 m squared, 20 beads will be used , I normally, scratch it, fit beads return in a week and float but its a small area and I was looking for a faster way, weather dependant, firstly fast was to get rid of steel of rsj ? Stick 6mm render board? What can I put over this, never did any modern render apart from some monocouche a while back2008, is it practical to stick beads and use OCR ?

Definitely OCR

If you want the beads to set quick mix rapid set cement & sbr to a dabbing consistency they'll be set in around 20mins depending on temperature.
Summer it's 5mins lol.

Someone on here said they used a melted glue gun for beads that'd set fairly quick aswell.

If you could put some pictures up I'm sure it would help get a better idea??
No pics on me but described it as such ,3 large openings on a balcony, in a u shape so to speak , so six reveals and three heads, above the heads it will be rendered up 500 approx with a stop bead sitting on the bricks, the first reveal will start with a stop bead on its corner and a stop bead internally at frame second ,third and fourth reveal will have a brick bead and a stop bead also in each internal, the last reveal will have a stop bead outside and inside, one of the heads is an rsj , the only visible bit is the underneath bit,

Went to travis p today in balham s,London, getting flettons, stainless stop beads and brick beads, 15 and 10 of the beads respectively, the guy took my customers account details and then said the beads are £26 each, I said no way would I take them at that cost even though I was not personally paying , he said what do you normally pay, I said around ten, he said no way, possibly could get it to 16 each, I said I'd unload them as the top branch two miles away will charge me £10 or less, the manager then said he'd do them for a tenner each, bloody nerve.. I buy boxes of fifty for £150 , there price would have a box at £1300

So you are using plastic beads mate now , if so get the 10 mm ones for what you want ,then ocr it

I dont think you can go over lac with a heavier render i would say krend hpx12 but might be other products like parex maite or parmurex your gonna have to scratch it john owls might know more as ive lost interest in alot of the systems i dont do anymore

You put a basecoat and mesh onto the render board (such as Weber LAC, K rend HPX/HP12/HP14, Parex Maite, etc..) and if you are not looking for a warranty you can then apply a OCR or S&C to this.

The basecoat holds the boards together and create a weatherproof finish, the finish is then applied to this.

Most boards have a dry weight and thickness limit (Knauf Aquapanel is 40kg/m2 and 17mm when onto battens at 600mm ctrs, most comparible boards are limited to match the thickness of the board)

feel free to get in tocuh with me if you want Asif...

Weber rep said you cant put mon over lac so i would say same for ocr but then i did call him a **** cause he was a prick

Weber do not advise or warrant their Pral M onto LAC and board.

If you want a warranted job, you get the suppliers to offer a spec and they will warrant and assist.......

And he didnt give me any solutions i would have had to put the lac on 15mm thick to match the thickness of the mono above it as i said prick complete waste of time him coming to site

I have done lac on cement board then mono , only because it was built that way , rebuild the 8 flats ,or we can give it a go , some times you have no choice

It gets done regularly Keith.... it is a matter of whether the client wants a warranty or not - and removing as much risk of movement in the structure behind..... same as on blockwork really...
