Hello!

Hope everyone is well!

Just wanted to see if anybody has ever had or still have a Fiat Doblo van and are they any good?

Not looking for anything new just around the 2003 -2004 reg for a start off van and they seem to be reasonable.

Any other suggestions would be helpful!

Thanks

Get a transit connect mate good vans

I've looked at the connects but always seem to hold the value for the year I'm after. Though you get what you pay for I suppose!

Mate has a Vauxhall Combo which is a good van. Been looking today but didn't see any of the Astra vans about.

Plenty of Peugeot Partners or the Citreon models about tho!

Hey hey doe knock the partners ad mine since 2002 great van never missed a beat hit a few sheep though that's what u get for doggin in the nature reserve made a nice coat though

haha no was thinking if not the Fiat would go for the Partner or Berlingo. Brother has had one for about 10 years and still going strong! Do you have the older one or the facelift model they brought in about 2002. Brother has the older one so know they go for ever!

Ui
Berlingos are like tanks, cant go wrong for a trusty ol work horse and plenty about. Cheap parts etc. Worth thinking bout anyway

You know whay fiat stands for dont you

Fix it again tomorrow.

I like the caddys astras and connects. The french made a good diesel engine so anything peugeot or citroen diesel would be a good buy

Just out of interest wer do u fit ur water butts hose pipes feather edges , straight edges levels , buckets, tools ,geny lights power csbles etc in an Astra size van

So when you rock up to a house that wants floating n skimming n thers no power wat do you do ? A) u fck th e skimmers of n call in the spreads ha ha ha

Started off with an escort van now I have transits, and still fill them, don't know how we managed with tiny vans.

Down the years i have had various vans from a Morris van in 1981 to a bedford pickup them a Bedford TK with a tipper back and a TK with an HIAB, transits etc etc and now have an astra van (the low type) and a trailer cos after years of carrying around two thirds of a van full of stuff you do not use every day of every week i realised that if your organised you can manage very nicely with a smaller van and your not paranoid about all your stuff going if the van get's done over :RpS_thumbup:

I had an escort van for a while, makes you very good at forward planning :RpS_crying:

Yep and they rust like a metal bucket in water. Mind you I've a transit on an 09 plate that I bought new and it's already rusting in sheets above the windscreen and footwell.

My old man never had a van bigger than an Escort and spent most of his time working on small sites and one off houses, all float & set.
He never owned a water butt, an electric whisk or supplied a cement mixer. In fact it wasn't until I started with him that he supplied a barrow.
I sometimes think the more we're willing to supply the less the builders are willing to.

builders dont like to supply nothin no more i was on a kier site in tenbury and had to lend them lights to light the communials in the flats but it worked out to be something i could use against them in the long run on that job tossers

if theres no power im goin home fack all this genny shite unless the powers off and there supplying the genny i only see it being worth while owning one if your running a machine of some sort
