Sound blocking

Done little ens bedroom few year back and sound boarded joining walls but can still hear neighbours. Though she is a gob shite. There old houses and every one on street says same . I didn' hold much hope to be honest with the boards .
Any way anyone know 100 percent way to block sound. We studded a wall ,insulated and sound boarded a house before xmas and they said they can still hear next door.
Moving to a detached is not a option lol

For best benefit it needs to be a sealed unit like a box or the noise escapes and transmits

But tbh your never going to beat the building and bad neighbours

It's a tricky one mate.

Problem is generally low frequencies that carry a lot of energy.

If you build a stud wall, that's fixed tight to the existing, then the vibrations will hit the old wall, vibrate through to the new wall and continue through the other side. The sound wave energy will be reduced a bit, but not much. If the new wall was sealed around all 4 sides and nt directly fixed to the old wall, then it won't be coupled directly sound transmission is massively reduced.

I think on that job the stud was up to the existing . In other bedroom its in a alcove so I think I.ll do that bit at wont loose much of room . Need insulation boards on exterior walls anyway in there

I did a big one last year. We built stud walls off the wall not touching then 50mm acoustic ins then resilient bars two layers of sound boards overlapping joints then 5mm sound seal around the perimeter the guy we did it for said he couldn't hear a thing after
I.d loose half of bedroom lol

Gonna be sept anyway. When darling ex takes kids to Australia to live . Think I.ll leave the old plasterboard on . Put some stud in front .insulated it then sound board. Might stop smell of Jamaicans finest coming through as well

Beckon him over to you next time you see him.......put a finger to your lips and make the noise Shhhhhhhhhh
Job done.

2 sound boards won’t make much of a difference to if you used one it’s how you do it in a system to cut sound crazy as it sounds bg spec certain ways think @Vincey done a sound proof thing a while back and had a bloke in to show him a way to do it

Standard board on at min I was gonna put stud in front rather then pull it of. Then sound board that . Got to pull external wall of any way and put insulation boards on .

Those sound proof boards they use in multi screen cinemas are probably some of the best plus the way their fitted ?

Can you repeat that?
