I’ve been researching ways to sound proof in various ways and was hoping some one could give me there advice on it. Is it possible to dot and dab sound proof plaster board to a party wall or do you need to create a partition first? I’ve read about high and low sound waves. So basically it’s not bass noise it’s just the next doors television they can hear?

You need to form a complete barrier of acoustic insulation. Any gaps and you defeat the object. Then you need a new wall. You will lose approx 6"/150mm.
