As mr warrior says if you do a good job with the float you shouldn't need a sponge . It does concern me somtimes when people say sponge finish as I have seen jobs where people chuck it on and straight over with the sponge
render looks tonnes better with a sponge finish. obviously rule it flat, then 2-3 floats till its gone off enough and flat enough, then sponge. brings the grain out and makes it a more uniform finish
Agree with pwi. Need to rub up a few times tho. The finish does look better imo.
Or if you do sponge,when its gone in a bit more very gently rub up with float.
gives a good affect. Each to there own tho ;D
