Hiya, does anyone have any ideas on how to make a spot board on the cheap. There £50 from toolstation.

I've been told a piece of ply for the board, any advice on what I could use as a stand. I've got my first job this weekend so any advice would be appreciated. Also what type of drill should i be using for mixing, anyone got any advice on a good one.

Thanks

3/4 marine ply really good but not cheap and again a purpose make stand is not cheap but they will both last for many years, with the stand its worth getting the correct one for your height so you dont have stoop to load your hawk , lots of people use gorilla tubs and they are a good idea but having been in the trade for a while i belive in making life as easy as poss on all joints of the body that will suffer from wear and tear, as for mixing drills again not cheap but the bosch and the mega mixer will last years worth thinking about what you will manly mixing as drill speeds are just as important as the mortor wattage .

bitof ply n some metal trestels you can get them for cheap

we used to use a bit of 10mm ply and folding plastic tresles from B&Q (easy to fit in van). we have'nt used a spot board for about 2 years now. Normally use gorilla tubs and bucket trowel, if we're lucky we've got our bitch feeding us, but thats only on bigger jobs! ;D
