no need to seal it, or at least i never have. while we're talking of spot boards, there was some one a while back got himself a sheet of perspex for a board, if you read this, how did it work out?

omg i thought everyone used spotboard and stand ... it must be easier than lifting it out of a bucket .... or is this something else im not upto speed on :-[

i just use an old black & decker wormate wi a 30" square laminated plyboard on it ... i know toolstation do a board and stand but at around 50 quid i think

I guess its down to personal preference - I used to use a spot board for every job until I was introduced to gorilla tubs - Unless its a nice big area to move around in, I'll always use a gorilla sat on an old Wickes hop up and just spoon it onto me hawk with a bucket trowel - The beauty of a gorilla is you can leave whatever's left of your last mix to harden up overnight and then just crack it out in the morning

cut them down to suit you mate you could have a large one for a couple of bags, a small one for hall/stairs/landing a thin one for scaffold..............

pristine thats exactly how i do it, but never used a spot board and stand so i was curious to see if it was better.

my first mix always goes on the spot board cos it needs to be on quick and the second i just take out of the bucket, theres no real reason why i do this, probably just cos im lazy and cant be arsed cleaning the spot twice!
