found your local crown center :RpS_thumbup:
I got them from my local crown decorators centre - they will need to order for you. I use sealer more as I tend to overboard over distemper.
Iv'e used the cemetone stuff over painted walls, good stuff, dried pretty quick too, wot are you goin over?
Thats best thing to do mate, the customer always thinks theyre right! Id defo go wth the pva + stabilex option be on the safe side! They stock it in b+q usually, same aisle as the boards, beads etc.

Cant get stabilex anywhere. Phoned up my nearest crown stores and was told they dnt do it. Goin to have a look in b and q maself. If I cant get stabilex is there any other stabilisers you could recommend?
Any joy at b+q mate? Iv'e only ever bought it from there or travis perkins. Only other stuff iv used is blue grit or the thistle bond it but thats well expensive!
No joy m8. Guy in b and q didny have a clue lol. Had a look around maself and asked another few lads. Can blue grit or bond it be used over distemper? Never done it maself a would usually overboard but this couple aint havin none if it.
If theyre anythin like the divs in my b+q im not suprised, half of em arent clever enough string a sentence together! Did u say the customer washing it down, shud b ok wth pva + blue grit or bond it. Iv only started using blue grit last couple of years, before that everythin jus got pva'd, distemper, painted walls, the lot, never had a problem.
Aye their washin it down with sugar soap. Told them to give it a good wash down if they dnt want it overboarded. Im the same m8 a usually Pva most stuff. Seem to be comin across alot of customers who are a pain in the **** lol. If they had let me get in an overboard it it would be skimmed and dryin out for paintin. If I cant get stabilex which is lookin unlikely I might just get some thistle bond it or blue grit. Would you pva over the blue grit when the blue grit dried. A know its to form a key but does it control the suction?
If they give it a good enough clean it should be good enough to pva it, let that dry then blue grit it jus to be sure. The blue grit does control the suction but with u sayin its dry it mite not control it aswell as usually does, i prefer the bond it but its too expensive! I know wot u mean about customers just lately, some are right k***s!
sound m8 cheers for the advice. If you ever come across anywhere sellin stabilex let us know. Be handy to have a tub sittin around.
No probs mate, let us know how u get on with it. Id get u some from my b+q but scotland may be a bit far to drop off! Lol!
Kris, I think your overthinking this mate. Your started quite a few threads now about primers and your trying all sorts of different styles but your wasting your time. I stay ten minutes from you so it's safe to say we quote on the same types of houses. I only use pva and once in a blue moon bond it and I've never had any problems. Stick to the basics bud.
