jesus how tight are things at the minute, no work what-so-ever. none in the pipeline either.
thought my luck had changed yesterday when i rang some1 i know and they passed a number of a full house board and skim on to me. rung the guy last night and said he had not had any interest at all, and would ring me back this mornin. he never did so i called him.
he told me he has had 40 phonecalls between the time i rung him and midday today. seemed genuine like.
spoke to a builder who lives round corner yesterday. he is out.
another plastering friend of mine sacked for not putting a hand rail on a scaffold tower.
the kid at agency who has got me some nice temp jobs buggers off on holiday for 2 weeks. cheers.
i have quite a few contats in my phone more than most 21 yr old in my game, ppl who i have worked hard for an earned the right to ring them in my hour of need. seems they are in the same boat as me.
my mother said why dont you get another job til it picks up.
never
chin up boys :p

Times are tough fella,

I know I have spent this week working on my other businesses..... you may have noticed things changing on the forum and on the site itself.

I have 2 small ceilings to skim friday morning which will get me £380 and thats it this week next week I have a bthroom to skim which is another £400 so thats next week sorted who knows after that....

Things will pick up praying they do anyway cant really afford to not doing the normal amount I need to have a big wedge save for when I leave in april......eek 155 days to go!!

All the best and good luck

Danny

i been laid off pretty much all month, not experienced enough to go solo, looking like im gonn have to do something else and maybe jump on again next year if and when the game gets goin again, sod this sitting around waiting for a phonecall for the odd day here and there, id rather not bother :'(

What worries me is at this time of year the run up to xmas you should stack out with work god knows what it will be like in the new year :-/

just cannot believe how bad it is this time last yr i was gettin at least 1 call a week for private work and had agencies from miles away ringing me up.
i have been in touch with a guy from holland who is trying to sort some work out there for me but its the same there he says.
the money isn't worth it but the experience i think would be good for 6 months or a year.
i also keep seeing new zealand and australia wanting plasterers but think thats a bit far.
plus our lass dont know about holland yet. lol.
just sorting out my nvq level 2 then i goin to do 3, if its not picked up by time i finished i think either teaching this trade or working abroad is the only answer.

yeah i started in the trade after hearing all this c r a p about tradesman needed and got laid off from 2 jobs one on site and one domestic cause of work dying off

:'( :'( :'(

I was panicing myself the other day, as we were just coming to the end of a job that we have been on for the last few weeks, and had no phone calls about jobs we have priced and things weren't looking too good, then on wednesday the phone just didnt stop ringing for work picked up enough work to see us right into next year so it was a bit of releif :) My old man always said that a week is along time in the plastering trade and anything can happen :-?
