Started a rendering job, the windows have steel lintels which are exposed at the top and as the building is around 70 years old they are starting to show slight signs of rust. Was wondering best method of covering them?

we have just finished a job where we had this problem we just stuck g-tech boards over them job done

Photos!

What are you wanting to do render over them or just the piliars?
the pointing looks like its just been put on with a gun,and left

We're K Rending the full house and extension. These photos are the original house, the extension is nearly finished. Think the pointing was done as a feature, the house was built in the 1930s.

in that case id be getting the rust off with a wire brush, paint some red oxide on ,and mesh over them

exterior grade plasterboards mate.....orange and waterproof, gripfill the heads on and voila...bead over them and render. Helps if you carry a bag of maite or any thin coat adhesive type render for this type of thing spare. Great for getting you outa the sheit

yep G tech board would do,should have thought about that
although i find that stickslike is better than gyripfill as it dries quicker.
