If anyone in the Ayrshire area gets offered any plastering tools please let me know. Guy who works for me got his hut broken into and they took everything.

My mate got tools stolen from his garage, just outside Glasgow a few years ago, still saw, hilti sds drill, bag of hand tools.scumbags!!! However a week later he was working in falkirk bout 30 miles away, in the pub at lunch time this pikey ...sorry travelling person came in selling tools, giving the patter about how he had lost his job needed money blah blah.my mate asked what he was selling ? "a still saw an some hand tools".... so my mate chats away to him quite the thing, what kinda state's the saw is in, how much he was wanting for it? All nice and pleasant... then the clincher ,..."you don't have a dril do you?"my mate asked.." nah I had a nice hilti sds but sold it last week" replied the pikey.
The pikey says "you can take a look at the still saw if you like, I can go get it an be back in half an hour". Comes back and by this time my mate has a few handers sorted .they take a look in the back of the van, his still saw and bag of tools still in the same bag are there!!!! The pikey said make me an offer?lol....... he gave him a kicking for the saw and handtools, and a broken nose for the sds drill lol .
sorry for the long story but there was a happy ending:RpS_thumbup:oh there was another pikey in the passenger. seat but he never even got out when his mate was getting a kickin. pmsl
.
every cloud. hope yer mate gets his tools back stu .

My old gaffer used to say its not always the cost of the tools its the inconvenience of having to buy new and break in new trowes etc. Hope he gets em back mate

We've had dozens of burglaries around here recently and I don't just blame the scum who come through the windows. There are them who sell them the drugs and them who buy the nicked gear. Now if buying stolen goods carried the same punishment as actually stealing it, we'd be getting somewhere closer to a solution. :RpS_thumbup:

Just a wee update, he's got his tools back. He found them hidden in the bushes on the railway line next to his house, only thing missing is his dewalt drill but he's not too fussed about that as it can be replaced.

Bet the fucckers come back looking for them!!not practical,But would be good to hang about for them:RpS_wink:

I think they have looked but can't find them, hut got done Sunday morning and there are a lot of houses next to the railway line.

About 12 years ago I spent 8 hours hiding in a neighbours back yard waiting for a scroat to come back for a cordless he had stolen from my shed and hidden in the back lane around the corner. Unfortunately when he returned to pick it up he got a bit more than the cordless he was expecting to find :RpS_thumbup:

My brothers Boss And his carpenter caught a thief when they returned in the evening to the site, they held him for police, he was given drugs counselling,,,that's the world we live in.

A spread I worked with when i was an apprentice came home from a night club one evening to find a burglar loading a car with his TV etc, after a quiet word with the chap he made him put it all back as he had found it. He then proceeded make the burglar a cup of tea and gave him some choccy biscuits. Before waving him goodbye at the back door. The next morning he got a knock at the door from plod asking if he had heard any noise in the back lane that night as apparently a youth had been found in the back lane with both his legs broken at about 7am. :-)
