sugar soap great for cleaning trowels

I soaked one of my stainless trowels in sugar soap and water came up like new after 2 days just a little rubbing on the tang.

You have to be careful with stainless trowel they really are thin at the edge the older they get.

Sounds stupid but could you soak carbon steel, does it still need air to rust?

Yes it needs air to rust mate

So it wouldn't rust if I soaked one then too clean it ?

Actually I'm not too sure if it needs air, just get a bit of hard s+c to clean it up mate then just tap it on your clothes at the end of the day and the dust will keep it from rusting

water does have oxygen in it as well.... so if you left it in water spunk it would still rust

It will rust in water, H20, 1 part Hydrogen, 2 parts Oxygen.

Carbon trowels wd40 soapy water wet and dry and elbow grease, I will soak one I have spunk in sugar soap and see what the outcome is . Now am getting really sad need to get a lifeLOL.

it wont rust in the water spunk it needs oxidisation to rust
