We all go on about getting underpaid, and undercut, but what about pricing for a job twice what it should be ?.

Just priced for a box room to be skimmed, with more work later on.Client wants a built in bed and archway.I know them, and they wanted me to do work on a medium sized living room and dining, but i was busy at the time so they got a builder + spread in.

The work has misses, and rough spots. No quality to the overall job.

Cost them 3 grand for both rooms.Spread price £ 800 per room.

Dunno there a part of me thinking its pay back for all the lower price jobs you do or lose, and another thinking if that dont put anyone off from wanting more work done nothing will.

They want me to finish the rest of the house so i suppose i can put in a decent enough price, which will no doubt make them feel more easier of paying out compared to what they are used to.

Listen your price is NEVER too high, it can and sometimes will be too low, but the more you can get the more you are worth, just my opinion

You know what you are worth and you know what a job is worth but at the end of the day it is you and your conscience, and when the light goes off at night and you fall straight to sleep , good luck to you.

i know we dont talk about prices but we still like to know what people are working for and as i can see most spreads work for in or around the same money i have see this many times proved i priced a house lateley now know the guy who owened it is a friend off a famley member i had a good chance and i told the other spreads prices one was 500 below me and the other was 800 above me which was very close priceing on quite a big job

I think there are different things going on.

What your happy to work for.
What the going rate is.
What you can get away with.

I know this build and spread wont be coming back on the job.No will they be recommended for a good price and level of workmanship.

I personal don't care what everyone else is on.I would rather have nothing than rip someone off like that.

I know a kitchen fitter that makes £40.00 on each of the blokes that he pulls in, hes always busy and keeps another spread i know going full time pretty much and also pays him the rate, so i guess in theory you could get away with quoting the rate pus 40 quid, which would be a nice little earner.

well thats my point there is more or less a dailey rate that we dont like to talk about

Unless your charging grannies 200 quid to clean their block paving with a pint of milk etc i do not think there is such a thing as over charging you submit a quote and the customer either accepts or rejects that quote and you will price depending on your surcumstances at that time if the customer is happy to pay you your quoted price how are you over charging ?
It is similar to a pair of jeans some will be happy to pay over a 100 quid for em and others will only buy 8 quid ones from asda the customer decides how to spend their money!

After ripping of grannies I wank myself to sleep

Suppose over charging ok ?.

I'd smash her over the head with a bottle and shag her old man

Now that is just fecking wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

You have got to make something other wise whats the point.

The customers trust him and his judgement to know who will leave good quality work and they are his contacts.

Seems fair play to me
