evening all.. got to look at an indoor pool. it's been cast/shuttered out of concrete. (not block built.) it needs to be rendered for tiling. was going to clean walls with acid cleaner to remove any shuttering oil. then sbr and give it scratch coat of 4:1 top coat 5:1.sbr in gauges scratch and top coat. how does this sound. just wanted to see if there is a different method or gauges i should use. pools not my thing really. any advice welcome. thanks for any replies in advance. claw75

sounds good enough, but no doubt someone else will have something to say , have you looked into using ocr ???
you used in a pool before then warrior. wasn't sure if they would guarantee their product in a pool.??

I spoke to the technical helpline of one of the SBR manufacturers (can't remember which one) last year, and the guy said that SBR is ideal for using on swimming pools. He said a slurry coat (neat SBR mixed with opc) followed by 2 coats (scratch and topcoat) of s&c render with added SBR would be guaranteed to do the job.

nice one mfw.

do you mean a lack of church every time i go over anything with sbr innit it just wants to stick to the edge

Nah mate ,ive done a couple of pools and garden wall using Sbr as a additive with sharp sand and they have roared in , i have allways scratched my head why buts thats the case i find .

weber ocr is bagged sand + cement in three different grades it is factory blended and rubs up the nuts just a float no sponge needed and you dont need a scratch coat unless going on concrete hence rendaid
