Texturing with a lancy

I've done a lot of rough casting with a lancy. What material are you using? You can buy a texturing gun but didn't find it any good (£250)! We use a 600mm long reach tube with a 45 degree end and 10 mm nozzle. You can stand back from the wall and see what your doing and also move it around faster. Do your mix at 500 and from full on turn your speed down four full turns. Hope that helps?
