Just to say i forgot what a stressful crappy job tiling is!!!!!!!!

been 3 days in a small wet room! i wish i could run away some tiles are 5 mill out!!!! WTF B&Q standard 35mil but some are 34.5!

Just use bigger spacers its harder if ur only using 2mm spacers oasis!! or better yet stick to the spreading side of work pal :P

sorry mate i meant 355 2 350 5 mill ! and they want the 2mil spacers! i can tile but 5 mil when ur doing perfectly square lines is not on!

especially if your tiling your plastering ;)

good news! since the tiles looked so crap due to there size the guy said he will pay me to rip them all off bag them take them back 2 b&q and even the cuts in the skip.. pay for my wasted time .. put a claim in on b&q and then pay me to re do!

this is a common problem with tiles nowdays, you have to mix them up as you would do wood flooring.
If you where a good tiler youd get over this mate.
Not every customer will be so forgiving !!!
Next time youl be £300 out of pocket.

like is said ..mix the tiles up.You cant tell me that every tile in every box is a diferent size unles there stone .Even then i wouldnt beleive you.

Thats quite a big variation...no way you are going to be able to lay them with only 2mm to play with...what type of tiles were they? floor tiles? slate? I would have sorted through them first, then laid by eye.

the tiles were 8 mil thick ceramic 330m2 with 2 mil spacers

yes your rite a day in day out tiler would have sorted threw first , i dint think about that.

but 5 mil is a hell of alot to play around with when you are doing floor to wall wet room all lines must meet and are paying for a new bathroom..

I'm happy to sort threw and carry on as i took most of one wall back off. but he says he thick iv had my time wasted and would like to claim and get me more money and get a better result in the end..

If he had told me to lay them with 2mm spacers I would have told him to F off and do it himself lol

Don't let it put you off tiling Oasis sounds like you got off on a bad one...b&q tiles are to be avoided like the plague anyway as is there Tileloc flooring...they are not tile specialists...there tiles are crap they all vary in size, they are poor quality, and when you ask the staff if they have to be sealed etc they have no idea...better sending your customers to Tilebase...or somewhere similar where they can get good service, high quality products and good advice and easy tiles for you to lay...

I laid some polished porcelain from wickes recently and it was and absolutely nightmare not even going into it now as its to painful...but now if the customer buys tiles from and of the sheds I check for damaged, different shades, size variations, wax coatings etc etc and charge accordingly...try to steer people away from those places as much as possible.
