Hello all,

Ok we have a buy me a beer feature

what it basically is a way of sending beer money to another member normally for good advice.

What do you think is a good amount?

Danny

why would we send each other money ;D............havent you heard theres a recession on , but i think looking at simps swanky snowman and the manor in the background he should be taking us out for a little bit of a doo :)

I think it might work there's some serious bacon-saving going on with a lot of the threads. I personally don't use paypal or credit cards any more so could not do any such on line transactions.

Slightly off topic but related is the 'ratings' option in use on some discussion boards whereby each user has the option to 'rate' a post once if they think it's a good'un. You can then run a 'best of' board and a raking table of who posts the most rated posts. this recognises those who post quality responses as opposed to contributing large volumes of not much. This could run alongside the buy me a beer.

If you like this idea please send me £3 postal orders via royal mail.....

I don't think we need a rating system on here, you can usually tell who the planks are within a few posts of anyone new turning up. The spreads on here with a good rounded knowledge of plastering are few and far between and I think we all rate these people in our own minds and know whether to take anything they say seriously.

yeah you aint wrong mucks I just liked the idea of having the best posts/threads being available at glance rather than diluted amongst the endless "my arm hurts" and "how do you do skimming/rendering" posts. I think the ratings system is more suitable where you've got hundreds of regular posters though. Definitely a 'nice to have' not a 'must have' for this site IMO. In IT terms the 'nice to have' requirements are never delivered....

Its just a feature I have seen being used on loads of other forums and it was always popular.

I will looked at doing a rated posts system....but give me some time though

Danny

PS I like feedback critism is always good!!
