Hello

The weather here has been pretty shocking too! We have had 3 days of rain.... still about 20 degrees though. I have not been able to get on the sea for those 3 days been a real pain in the ass!

brrrrr england sounds too cold for me now...lol

All the best

Danny

could do with taking it a bit easier as goes! thing is with the weather, one forecast says its gonna get wetter, one says colder another says something else, you can't rely on any of em

I bought a 11 x 7 m2 tarp o finish mono job £40.00 to stop rain... now its bloody minus 3c here looks like i will have to hire a space heater now... more bloody dosh... but ot 6k tied up in it and will come in handy...

I have lots of render jobs and just priced 2 more ..... strange thing is in the summer I didnt have any .... WTF is that about then

How did you manage to get that job, what with Render Systems being just a bit futher north than you? ;)

i dont know if certain specialist firms have the rendering jobs rapped up in the summer then come winter they get any c**t to price it ;D

We are in the same boat we have a small bungalow to k-rend but the weather has stopped play but luckily we had the internal as well the plan was to jump in when the weather was bad and out when nice but the internal is nearly finished now and we are gonna have to go on a different job :-\

I was going to dash an extension yesterday it was dry but went down to -6 last night what sort of temp do you guys work to I normaly won't render if below 5

I wont render if its cold or raining or windy its got to be perfect conditions but they dont come along too often :( so gotta do what you gotta do ;)

i do what it says on the tin mate :)

same here nowt less than 5c and if thats daytime temp you know its going to get colder over night so jobs knackered really until it hits about 8c during the day (In my opinion) hahaha mind you when i was site bashing as a young un we used to put car anti freeze in the water buts just so we could work... that was when i worked for someone else who didnt give a stuff... wouldnt dream of doing it now though as if its F***ed its out of my pocket

I have a place in spain (Quesada Costa Blanca) was there 4 years last 10 months did no work what so ever at all... bored to bloody tears... then if you get a hint of a job your pricing against russian, bulgarian, latvian T**ts who work for €40.00 a day... so we have no chance...
I know what you mean about freezing at nights also the bloody way the villas are built is s**t... single course hollow blocks no insulation...
me and the girlfriend put more clothes on when we went to bed...
espana par mi este no bien... ;)

Amigo para mi bien, Hi mate i did reply on another thread about your house perhaps you didnt see it, i know what you mean about new builds in Spain for foreigners no matter what size, they build them as holiday homes and just dont expect you to live in them in the winter. You need to spec the house yourself with the architec,my mate has just had one built in La Zenia fully inslulated with central heating lovely and warm but this is a million euro property quality dosent come cheap in Spain.I live an hour inland from Quesada and do quite a bit of work there but ime multi trade so take the lot on so dont realy compete with the easterns, well you cant.I take it when you whent out to Spain you were looking at the big mono capa jobs so you would have had to compete with them which is hard as they are cheap but in my book rough as they dont rule it of and the sun soon gives it away, but that is the excepted standard. I count myself lucky as i only have a small mortage and just the two of us so we struggle by but its not easy here at the moment and many going back but iknow where i would rather be, spent all aftenoon on the balcony sunning myself, good luck with the house sale ime going to Quesada this weekend will have a look at your place.

had a bit of hassle there with the rain leaks every where got some quotes but way to much... the guy i got in last week cant finish the job until after xmas... pissed off now still stuff to do there... 15m 2 of tiling 20 m2 grouting 10m2 of plastering etc nightmare getting reciept for insurance company... if you go there its the last house on the left at the bottom street overlooking the 16th hole i think few cracks apearing in mono as well as the builder didnt tie the new brickwork into the existing... i would like another opinion if you dont mind... let me know if your going and i will let the tennant know may be a few quid in it for you as needs to be fixed... i have a complete list... mostly small but want it doing before xmas... PM me if interested and we can sort something out

Cheers

steve

No probs Rend will contact you tomorrow bit late now. ime going down to Quesada to meet a mate of mine who has the same probs as you, flooding cos the rain,he has had 2 Spanish builders go round to quote reccomended by the insurance company but never came back with a price so they have asked him to get other quotes. I think that the problem is that most builders are skint and with the insurance jobs you have to front every thing, materials labour etc and wait for the insurance payout which in Spain could be months or never i have the added problem like most that i have deregulated as most have as the 300€ a month was just to much but do have a mate there who is still in the system so hopefully can work something out, speak tommorrow.
