anyone used gypbond when dot and dabbing onto pre cast concrete? I used some knauf BETAKONTACT the equal product but found it to pull off the dabs where as the gypbond is still hard as hell?? anyone seen this before
I was dabbing a pre cast concrete building, the surface prep on the spec was gybond walls first before dabbing, we run out of gypbond (as in the green bond-it paint on) and used the a bucket of knaufs equal product betokontact but where we used the knauf product it did not key. i found the dabs pulled off the wall
no the spec was for bond-it 24hrs then dot and dad away, the section with the knauf stuff i noticed had come off the wall and was stuck to the back of the dabs just leaving bare patches on the wall. no probs at all with the bond-it
I thought about dirty walls rich but every single one had come off and the walls were ok, we left ample time for cure but i can only think the product is not as good ?
I understand concrete pours can be different. for in situ buildings they use a certain type knowing that direct plastering will take place. maybe it was still holding moisture itself causing it to separate.
