sometimes on re-skims the customer will insist on keeping screws in walls for those dreaded radiators and tv brackets. if like me your hate messing about try this tip.
take screws out and place drinking straw into rawl plug and cut down so it sticks out 5-6mm, make sure its pushed as far back as it will go before cutting it.
Now when you apply finish the straw will bend as you pass over and spring back.
you may get a slight jump but as coat stiffens you can remove straws and flatten any jump line.
:RpS_thumbup:

Another way of doing this is to remove rawl plug and push as much tissue as you can in the hole, as the plaster drys the holes show through.

How ******* thick are you lot putting your skim on:RpS_scared: Just remove screws first coat on, touch the spot where the screw hole was with corner of trowel. Repeat on second coat, trowel up wall job finished replace screws. Time taken almost zilch then sit back and enjoy a cold Fosters drunk through a straw.

FNCKIN HELL IVE HEARD SOME SHITE IN MY TIME, BUT s**t THE BED THATS LEET :RpS_lol:

Fosters??? give ya head a sheck

i just leave 1 screw in if i absolutely have to. then they can just put the bracket back on that 1 screw and itll be obvious where the other screw is. or take some measurements. i carry enough tools i dont need without buying feckin straws. although it would give me an excuse to go to mcdonalds.

i can see your scrim from here lol

No you can't mate because although I've been at this thirty years I'm not "old school" enough to still use jute scrim. And 2mm is plenty to cover fibre tape, that's why BG recommend applying a 2mm coat of finish.

I just put nails in the plugs then take them out & in as needed when trowelling up.
Or tape over the plugs skim it & get the customer to drill new holes the lazy ***** :RpS_thumbsup:
