Hello gents,
I live in a ground floor flat, built in the 1890s. Unfortunately, the damn thing is approximately 100 yards away from a railway line and is also in the Heathrow flight path. :RpS_cursing::RpS_scared:
I will be doing a refurb soon and would like advice on what I can do to minimise the noise I am subjected to on a daily basis. :-0
I have some thoughts so far, would appreciate a sense check?
1. Use Fermacell boards on stud wall
2. Acoustic insulation inside stud wall
3. Use Fermacell boards on floors
4. Use solid doors
Immediate question I have is whether Fermacell will actually hold up on a ceiling. I have read that it is good stuff but mighty heavy?
Cheers for any info.
