Ok guys here's one for you
7 newtons blocks with bed joint rreinforcement do you price for full mesh or just normal stress points and spray away please take into account ,your trying to keep price down ?????.?.?.:RpS_crying:

I always fully mesh, seen problems when people only mesh round stress points

Just mesh stress points mate 7 newton blocks are fine with out fully meshed render but for added confidence it doesn't cost much .

What does the material manufacturers spec say? Bed reinforcment goes a long way so if it is not in the spec to fully mesh then stress patches. On refurb I always fully mesh.

Forget what spec says, if it's a direct job do a full mesh, saves the pain of trying to explain if substrate cracks in the future.x.

Always follow the spec and if you have any added concerns put it all in writing and get it accepted. If any problems arise you have covered yourself. Just my experience from 40yrs of running a plastering business.

Spray away , you still using weber ?,if so thats what they say for mesh ,less then 7 newton , with you i would guess it is another big one :RpS_thumbup: hope you get it mate

i go beyond spec, if it stats stress points only I still full mess, like I said if you mesh stress points only and another part of the substrate cracks then yes I know you will be covered for following the spec but all I'm saying for sake of cost just full mesh, when something cracks regardless where people always try to blame render. Just my opinion from running a rendering company for 41 years

You went up a year in 18 minutes

Thanks guys it wasn't for any job really just thought I would find out what people think and what the feeling out there was personally I just do stress points on 7 newtons and full mesh on any refurb . Hope everyone's busy and looking forward to the Christmas break

Anyone ever thought with the mesh being 4mm and the mono grain is 2mm then depending how much you push the mesh into the wet gear and push it well through there is a risk of having a sheet of plastic between the 2 coats?

Yes Rigs

That's exactly why tv10 is specied on monorex.

Thin coat adhesive is finer in grain but will also adhere to mesh,
Mono on the other hand will mot adhere it needs suction and needs to bind together for bond and to tight a mesh can act as a separation layer especially if there is a time lapse between mesh and the next pass.

Parex get it bang on there as do pro rend.

I personally think that generally mono cracks when it's either too thin or hand applying it's mixed to stuff to get it on thicker therefore not hydrating the lime, cement etc oh and tv10 on mono always! Parex stand by it and spec it!

If applying by hand would you push the tv10 mesh into the 1st coat? Then apply second coat.

I would use mesh on all renovation jobs if possible, especially tv10,which is top draw.problem is the extra £2 odd a m2 which bumps the price up so when pricing against another spread might kill the job.i will ask the builder/customer is they want it in.allways mesh stress point though.

Bobby is right on Reno jobs fully mesh. Never mind the cheaper quotes let them have it because when you get a crack the customer blames you no matter what!

I think most people these days would pay for it done right , it is the builders that want it cheaper so they can load your price more :RpS_unsure:

I reckon it's a load of b*ll***s and the only people benefiting are the people who make the mesh

where are you getting it for 2 quid a metre from? you shouldn't be giving more than 90p per metre 40 odd a roll.

I want more than a £1 for doing a full mesh ,I always mesh the whole house first so charge for a extra coat ,hate having to put it in as you go every thing gets in a mess and stops my flow when were spraying I want everything to flow smoothly top to bottom with not many stops that why you get the most out of your machine and it goes on nice and quick
