Too soft to scrape

Hi

We applied Kilsaran one coat render yesterday in an effort to scrape off this morning, areas were still too soft to scrape, with some moisture on the wall due to overnight weather conditions, were we right to leave it for another day before scraping.

Anyone ever scraped two days later?

Cheers

Steven

Was it still too wet this afternoon? Sorry might be a daft question but you only mentioned it being wet thismorning

Yes it was still soft this afternoon and didn't appear look like it would be ready to scrape by 4 o'clock, so we decided to leave it over night again.
As bobby says i think rigsby was talking about kilsaran recently being a slow setter, but 2 days though. I usually use weber or parex neither of whitch take anywhere near this long to scrape.

I used Kilsaran as an overnight in August when we had that cold spell. Sprayed late though 6 till 9pm. It was soft next morning at 6.30 but only just. Rest of the year always done same day although early spray and late finish.

I am using Kilsaran week after next so will put some speed up in it. My first machine job was with a product called primocolor sold by PFT Northern. It is no longer imported but we sprayed mid November 80m2 by 11am and it was just ready for opening up by 4pm the next day as it was going dark. We had to leave it until the next morning but by then it was rock hard!

Was the job you sprayed on a new build? if so what thickness? New build unoccupied have no heat loss but my job is a lived in re furb job so an element of heat loss and will be sprayed at 10mm on their super bond. Nice stuff to use Kilsaran.

It was a new build, small bungalow, we applied the product by hand over double coat beads.

It took a bit of effort to scrape but thankfully we got it sorted and it looks good.
