heres a question!

You know in older houses, terraced...semis upto about 1960

The top 2 foot of the wall always seems to be different texture....sometimes a grey/light blue colour...why is this? Did they use a special paint?

I would post a photo but I see this on all older houses so you must know what I mean.

No, it was purely decorative,but easily marked or damaged hence used on ceilings and above picture rails,ie it won't be touched or dirtied up, not good for damp at all, keep this between us though
