hi, can anyone give me some advice on avoiding blisters when skimming onto bonding coat?? i find im fine on plasterboard but struggle with bonding.. is the key too deep am i applying too much pressure, whats the knack?? appreciate any help..

The key could be too deep as you said,if you have left any areas that are not closed in enough could be a reason for it.

Not nescessarily required to leave it and pva, in this weather pva wouldn't be needed unless it's really dried, when bonding has set,put on first coat flatten ,allow to pull in,then second coat it, flatten ,leave to pull in,you could sponge float it when nearly dry and trowel up, sponging will help get rid of the bubbles

Blisters can be a real pain i recommend gloves or a good barrier cream or could be a sti.....is it under the foreskin? trainee lookin for some knowledge part 2

I skim on it after a couple of hrs just leave it alone to set if it starts blebbing the more you trowel it the worse it is

when you say is the key to deep by any chance are you flotaing the bonding with a devil float?

he has shown us how to skim bondin but i get the same response, im over trowelling even when i dont it still blisters though

Ok so another thing you can try is to give the pimples a hard dry rub in a circular motion with your trowel flat to the wall but only do this after your second trowel just before you cross trowel and be careful not to dig into the wall.some times these thing are trial and error .Good luck.

Fair dos dont over trowel it but that isnt the reason , just a nightmare . Have to give it a trowel when it is fully set and it takes them out
