been reading that this trowel is heavier than that trowel etc lately..
so being a sad *******, I have weighed a selection of trowels on my Micro cement scales ( so its accurate )
Trowels are all 16''x5'' apart from the nela which is a tad narrower..

Nela 49.7g
refina 52.7g
m/T 50.5 ( xtralite )
kraft 52.9g

s*p*r*lex
nela 49.8g
refina 53.9g

as you can see, there is hardly much weight difference between them all, in fact in the non s*p*r*lex trowels, there is a 3g difference from the lightest to the heaviest, anyone struggling with this 3g.. really should get to the gym..lol...

actually I was weighing some micro up for a job, after ,I decided to weigh the trowels, Im not that sad,,lol.. just fed up with idiots going on about how heavy a trowel is compared to another, so my little test shows they are actually talking out their hole..

Well i've not been flying round discussing it major on site but i think the nela s*p*r*lex feels alot lighter.

Shows how finely tuned the body is if a 3g weight feels different in the hand.

yes the nela s*p*r*lex is lighter than the refina... but it is also a 1/4'' narrower... personally, I cant feel any difference in all the trowels.. but the scales dont lie, and show, theres fuk all in it really... weird hey..

Can you publish weights of a Kraft, Ragni , Ox, Tyzack, Draper, to make it fair? :RpS_cool:

What were the trowels like that you used for the micro cement, any of them the Pavan from italy?

kraft is on there pal, tyzack is chinese shite now, and the others, I wouldnt bother with.. for the micro its spats 25mm up tp 600mm... far better than a trowel... in my opinion..

I think the feeling of if 1 feels lighter than the other comes down to the balance of the trowel in your hand more than actual weight...

I always used a 13" old wooden handle made in Sheffield tyzack and it felt like an extension of your hand aposed to a 13" mt.....

though since that old trowel died been using a mt ever since wouldn't of ever bought any other trowel than the old tyzack had they not foooked about with it!!!:RpS_cursing:

hi cassie you seem to have to much free time on your hands or are you just bored :RpS_thumbsup: :RpS_lol:

not bored mate, I dont get time for that, with work and the gym etc... was weighing out some micro and decided to weigh the different trowels ( in case anyone was interested ) been reading nonsense about trowel weights, so there ya go...

I know... ok.. what I really did was banged 30 bags on a ceiling ( on my own ) mixed all lot in a skip, trowelled up like glass , looked great... started at 8am, and was back home for 9am.. grand in back pocket... yep, I was lieing about weighing the trowels .lol...

As soon as I read the weights I was going to mention it's more to do with the balance than the weight,to each person each trowel will probably feel slightly different in balance and weight as we all hold the trowels at slightly different points on the handle, the handle angle and distance from the trowel, although slight will also play a part:RpS_thumbup:

Balance is correct. Love my Tyzack and I don't care how heavy she is. In my eyes she's perfect .

Not so happy with my Marshalltown hawk tho, hes 2g heavier than my Kraft and a whopping 3G heavier than my Ragni
