Saw a spread on a site with a bit of plastic cavity closer with some wood screwed on , looked like that, he did it for a laugh then found it apparently worked just aswell as the real thing.

Your right . I like making shillelaghs ,and bata sticks. And hiking sticks , most sticks I make have defence in mind . Been making lots of cudgels lately. ..:birra:

How about a medieval quarterstaff? According to You Tube it's the most effective way of killing Zombies..except our own beloved One of course.

Where do you think the idea for the speedy came from? It definitely wasn't a new idea.

Blackthorn.if I can find dead or fallen branches. As it takes years to season. So mostly oak.

Timber (well, hardwood) is in increasingly short supply, in recent years, but I guess for your purposes, the wood, and quantities, you need is still fairly easy to find.

By the way, few people realise the unpleasant origin of the name of the US film industry.

Make it smooth. Are you getting hardwood and hollywood mixed up.

Nope.

Look into the origin of what holly wood was (amongst other things) specifically used for.

Don't misunderstand me - I'm not going off on one or anything, and I'm not in any way saying any of it is my personal belief. I'm just saying spend 5 minutes looking into it, that's all - it might surprise you. We live in a strange world, regardless of whether or not we personally choose to participate in the strangeness. "All part of life's rich tapestry...", as they say.

Could do with one now these are on my walk
It's the dog that should be worried, any hassle and it's on it's own. One of the walkers got killed trying to protect their dog. Had a little biut of excitement like that myself once, but this is a bullock (I think) not a broody or protective cow with a calf.
