Two bonding coats

Can you put another thin (3mm) bonding coat on top of a thick (8mm) bonding coat ?

Will it fastern ok if I pva it ?

Thanks I assume a 4mm finishing coat would not be a good idea and would not bond well to the bonding coat ?

A bonding coat is a backing coat designed to be skimmed onto

If it's 8mm and 3mm why did u not stick a 9mm pb on it and scim. It. I always get a straight edge and if can get a board on it.make good with bonding rest of wall.

Easier to patch on roughing then board for me

Because I wanted to leave enough room for a skim coat, but did not get it quite right, as I am not skimming the whole wall it has to be level with the rest of the wall.

If it is not a big wall we tend to overskim the whole wall rather than patch.
