Please can someone help me to understand a two coat plaster application used internally when used with a standard angle bead 12-19mm.

What are the two coats...

1) Base coat/scratch coat - cement based? Grey in colour? how thick in mm?
2) Top coat/finishing coat - traditional plaster? Pinky in colour? how think it mm?

Sorry if the terminology isnt right... as you can tell I'm not a plasterer!

you shouldnt be using anything over 10mm beads internally, give us a desription of the work

Normally a backing / float coat is around 12mm in thickness this can be sand and cement based or gypsum based over a substrate of block or brickwork , a skim coat/topcoat is normally gypsum based and around 3mm in thickness .

Why not just use laths, for sand and cement ,and the when all floated up ,use minimesh angle beads for your skimming
